the ten minute blizzard

My southern friends will not be familiar with blizzards of any kind, not even the ten minute variety!  Living near the Great Lakes clouds will pass through, dump on you, then move on....and the five miles away they will have had nothing.  Called Lake Effect.  Penny and I set out for a quick walk Wednesday and the snow came down so heavily for ten minutes we could barely see!  Then it was gone....and we were home and she found the cat and...well, the usual, called The Warm Couch Effect.

Time for a wee joke, then I need to glaze a huge number of mugs and start the kiln:
Q:  what do you call a snowman in summer?
A:  a puddle!

I know what a Blizzard is, it's that drink you get from DQ.
Stay warm

Would that blizzards would stay at the DQ!

There is also the Warm-Human-Effect......I am cold and you are warm so I will sit on you and help you!

a 10 minute blizzard and a DQ blizzard are the kinds of blizzards I like!

Way up here in Maine we had snow flurries off and on all day yesterday...still snow in spots in the wood as we discovered while walking today...very cold as well! Dogs have their LLBean fleece coats at the ready! Funny the warm couch effect seems to be everywhere...

I could do with a snow puddle right now 45.5 C here yesterday. Heat wave very wearing.

All we've got here are puddles from rain. If only it was 10 degrees colder!
Thanks to my foot, I am exceedingly familiar with the warm couch effect, coupled with warm tea and warm soup. And for the record, I am very fond of both kinds of blizzards. Feel free to send me one or both!
