now don't get all preachy on us....

OK!  But this is that rare, one in million post with GOD in it.
DOG too!

Some friends shared this poem with me this week, and the part in the middle I am underlining is quite affecting:

God speaks to each of us as he makes us,
then walks with us silently out of the night.
These are the words we dimly hear:
You, sent out beyond your recall,
go to the limits of your longing.

Embody me.
Flare up like flame
and make big shadows I can move in.
Let everything happen to you: beauty and terror.
Just keep going.
No feeling is final.
Don’t let yourself lose me.
Nearby is the country they call life.
You will know it by its seriousness.
Give me your hand.
—Rilke’s Book of Hours, I, 59

Go to your limits?  Let everything happen to you?  Just keep going? Life takes some courage, doesn't it?

And then the wife and I were walking yesterday in glorious spring sunshine and came across a favorite spot of ours WHAT BEAUTY HATH GOD WROUGHT.
... have an awesome weekend :)

I think Rilke was "onto something". Always loved the poem about loving the questions. This week it came to me how nice it is to find people who are asking similar questions (and living them) Thanks for the poem!
PS When not pottering or drawing, my "day job" is as a preacher. I think Rilke "nails it"! Maybe I'll use some of this poem tomorrow....bet I do...

Life does take courage and to live up to your potential and feel fulfilled, you have to take risks!
