in which I receive a MARRIAGE proposal...but I am not a polygamist....

There I was, at the FAIR of the century!  The MILLENIUM!  The best I have had since 2000, WOW. Blockbuster! I mean it!* And the weather was not too bad...

ANYWAY, so there I am at this fair chatting with 2 women, one says to her friend "I'll buy you that for your birthday!"  indicating the fabulous whatever-it-was and she pays and moves on, and the future recipient sticks around and asks
"hey, are you single?  My friend there is so sweet and kind and artsy and beautiful, if you're available would you marry her....?"
and I am like "well, uh, I am married, thanks though!" and her friend comes back, the beautiful, kind and artsy one I am NOT marrying, and cracks me up, telling the matchmaker "you'll get the gift, but I get to keep the bag!"  and I am thinking "there's a consolation prize, lady can't have ME or my pottery, but she gets the paper bag (I get bags free from the store and draw doggys and such onto them)...."

My best pal Christi was there too, AND from time to time I bump into my very best pal Dean White...I was Dean's apprentice, as you will recall NEARLY 30 years ago AND as he has told me "I have had hundreds of students and apprentices but only one became a potter...YOU".

I tell ya, I lead a priviledged life, I really do... have a great Monday!
www.whitespottery.com saw Dean White at a fair this week, i was his apprentice nearly 30 years ago!

* You're always like "wow, what a great fair, here I am stuffing the bank this holiday season!" and then property tax bill comes January 1 and you hear that giant sucking sound and you realize that the total amount of millions mugs sold barely covers the tax bill, DANG that is humbling!  And they better keep the county roads in good repair and the little sh!ts at the schools better be taking good care of the textbooks I paid for....
