night at BELLE MELANGE wherein I am a BIG STAR

Thursday I delivered pots for my Friday opening at Belle Melange Gallery, 210 W. State in Ithaca, and I ask Lisa what is expected of me. She is like
"well, you have done this before" BUT NO, actually, I had not. Group shows, sure, but never I AM THE STAR. They just needed me to be there and chat with the folks, and DANG did we have a large crowd!
At 5 or so, the hobo brigade arrives, the usual suspects who go to art openings and chow down on the snacks and free booze. Then the rest of the world arrives....
Christi came over with BOOTs on,
Kerry came too, with her TOYS.

I was making an important point with Carl....

Mary organized the show beautifully and the snacks, isn't she adorable?

Naturally I stopped at the Chapterhouse on the way down to the party, per usual on a Friday, and Stevo was there....

and Tommy....

Christi opens a show of her own today on Old Elmira Road at the Kitchen Sink, go Christi! And GO HOBOS! Another party with free food and drink!
Good lord her paintings are cool....

G, you were awesome last night as the star! Your work is so easy to work with because it is beautiful and lends itself to so many possibilities for display. I loved working with it. Thought we had a nice crowd and really there were not too many of the usual food moochers. But I did see one of them again at Christi's show today.
