what makes a good blog post? a good blogger? a discussion...
Penny thinks she is a super hero named ROCKET PUP with magical flying powers....
I am sort of a forward looking person. I post then start thinking about the next post. But I notice other bloggers checking their comments and having discussions back and forth. Its not like I don't look at comments, but as i say, I am looking ahead and not thinking much about the last post. That probably makes me seem lazy or standoffish.
Then there are my posts. 4 years of blogging and its the same old crapola: the dogs, the cats, the pots, and here is me pretending I am a big deal with my martini...anyway, sure, my life is repetitive too and I blog it all, why not? Its interesting to me :)
Your thoughts on blogging? I swear I will check into the comments!

Is that martini shaken or stirred? ;)
I read the blog almost daily. You give us some insight into the creative process, include humor, nice slices of life and of course, George! Thanks for the care you put into the blog.
Wow, who the heck is this wonderful Bartster? SHAKEN, Beckster :)
You are much better at frequent posting than I am which in turn inspires me to think about what I'm going to post. I like the variety and humor in your blog. I do like reading about Penny because she reminds me of my Beagle mix. Just keep having fun with it.
i started blogging because jz and i had started a new life together and i wanted to keep a journal of our adventures.
then he was diagnosed with cancer... couldn't bring myself to blog about it... kept a handwritten journal. after he died it took me about 3 months to get back to work in the studio and back to blogging.
foremost... i write for myself. i like to go back 6 months to a year to see what was going on and how far i have come.
...i enjoy reading other people's blogs... a glimpse into their lives -studios, work habits, cats, dogs and what they eat for dinner :-) it's way better than reality television!!
I don't do the same thing every time but most posts I don't comment to each of the comments. But I do read every comment. And then sometimes I email something back to someone who left a particularly good comment. I can speak for myself, I do not expect a comment back from you if I leave one on your posts. Only if I ask you something that requires an answer.
I don't generally comment on comments unless someone asks a question. Forward thinking. I like this.
My stuff is repetitive too...isn't it all???
Martini's=yummy.
In response to Meesh: I NEVER ever look back at old posts. I won't say I hate the past, but I prefer my hazy memory of it :)
Oh no, no, no, he's a rocket pup...
I like to thing of my blog as a way to share with my cyber-friends what I have going on. It's a great way to make new friends, too, and I look at each blog post as either an introduction of who I am to potential friends, or an update of what I'm doing to my current friends. The comments back and forth are like having conversations about what I have going on.
That probably makes sound me like a lonely old cat lady, but with chickens. :) And a duck.
I really enjoy your blog (and your beagle), and visit daily even though I don't comment all the time.
Wow, we learn something new about you everyday! Your beagle flys, our dogs don't, and wow you are a three olive man...what could be cooler than that! lol lol
You know what I love the most about all my dear friends posts? The fact that I love them, and everything about them.
We show the world, "It's great to be me, and it's great to be you"!
Oh we are all the best! In my heart always...! Oh what fun! :)
LOVE those pictures of the pets :)
I like comments because they often start a further conversation (which I like to carry on in e-mail, unless if spurs on a new post). I rarely reply in my comment section, although I know that some bloggers do... for me, it means I have to visit the same post at least twice, and I just don't have time for that.
But I miss your visits, Gary!!
Our drinks are stirred because we don't own a shaker.
I usually chat it up in the comments just because I feel like I have so many things I need to say! I don't mind when bloggers don't go into the comments and comment to commenters. Comments!
I like a blog post with a bit of a story or some insight or fun or some pics of beagles. I get all that here. I don't like very long blog posts. I like to keep them short and sweet. I don't really like to hear folks bi$#h and complain on their blogs but if they do, maybe they need to and that's okay. I like comments and having a little back and forth there.
sometimes a 3 olive man, sometimes a FOUR olive man :)
It's all new to me. I'm just trying to be me & do some cool stuff at the same time.
I miss Celeste! Where the heck did she take off to this time???

Well, I stopped posting over at my blog for the time being.
Most of my previous commenters moved over to Facebook,
with the droves of drive-by visitors not encouraging me to spend a lot of time
producing quality content for my own blog.
Just a small issue to be sorted out with my parole officer. Nothing to worry about.
Atta Girl! I thought you'd lost your touch or something equally awful.
