cookies, BAD CATS and good dogs...

As I write this, there is a crash from downstairs.  Spike wants his breakfast.  The wife tells me he is pulling magnets and stuff off the fridge.  He has a 3 hour and 7 minute wait until he is fed.....will I be able to hold out under this attack?
Spike actually has a chair at our table.  BUT that does not mean he is allowed ON the table, or to grab anything from it....

In other news...Penny the therapy dog was with me down at the senior center on Monday....my buddy Kerry got some shots with her phone....these were 2 interesting moments.  The lady in pink here always loves seeing Penny, but I thought she had some memory trouble.  WRONG!  She said she had not seen us in a bit (2 weeks off for holidays) and also was I sick?  She herself has had health problems, but I was surprised and said no, and she said I look pale....  one thing I have learned about spending time with older folks:  be careful about your guesses and impressions.  Some people are physically very fit but do not remember things well, others may seem physically challenged but 100 percent sharp...and the whole spectrum between plus aspects you can't even guess at....the second photo shows maybe Penny's most happy moment ever at this place and I am glad Kerry got that shot...

IN OTHER news I have been monkeying around with the new glaze below and I LOVE it, so perfect, and you can see a)  how nice the blue spots work with it and b) I love bamboo handles!

FINALLY, floating around the interwebs is a no bake cookie recipe and I am like "chocolate and peanut butter cookies in LESS THAN TEN MINUTES???".  I made several changes....like, more chocolate etc :)  THEY ARE really fudgy and good *recipe follows

* Gary's fudgy no bake cookies (I can claim it because I made 5+ changes in the recipe)

-Stir in large bowl:  1/3 cup sugar, 2 Tbs. (soy) milk, 2 teas unsweetened cocoa
-microwave on high one minute
-add 2 Tbs peanut butter, 1/4 teas vanilla, 1/4 cup chocolate chips (mixture is hot and they will mostly melt), stir
-stir in 1/2 cup oatmeal, 1/4 cup chopped nuts or coconut, another 1/4 cup chocolate chips
-use a spoon and form little cookies (about 9) and place on waxed paper on a plate, refrigerate 30 minutes then eat!

Love the adventures of Spike. Makes me laugh, but I guess I can afford to laugh since I don't have to pick up after him.
Nice photos at the senior center. Looks like Penney is a big hit!
Speaking of hits look at those tasty cookies. Was that lunch?

That green glaze is sweet. I love no bake cookies for summer when I DON'T want the oven on, I'll save this recipe.

Great green glaze, Gary!

No bake cookie! I have been making that recipe since I was a kid. They are almost more like candy than cookies, yum.

I swear that cats can tell time. If I'm not up by 7 AM (I know, that's LATE for you), Henry starts banging on the bedroom door and meowing like he is being murdered. My old cat Winnie (who was the most amazing orange cat ever) used to hate the flute and would come downstairs every Monday evening 1 minute before 8 PM when my last student's lesson was about to be over.

I too love the green glaze and especially the blue dots! Oh, and now I'm craving chocolate cookies. Thanks a lot! :)

I love Penny's expression! Oh, if only we could all have jobs where our responsibility was solely to be adored.

I kind of want to go make this recipe right this very second. No bakes are the best, and these sound especially awesome - thanks for sharing!

I can't believe you make Spike wait for his breakfast. I'm calling PETA. LOL!! :0
Funny thing is, I leave food out all day for our three cats, and none of them are chubby. See, it's like cat's have their own food issues, just like humans.

It fills my heart with joy seeing Penny out there doing good stuff in this world; bringing joy. YOU are both awesome!

I don't want to end up in a home, but if I do I hope someone like you and Penny visit me.
