the long and the short of it....

BUT FIRST!  An end of summer haiku.  Sunday, last day of summer, was very warm.  Monday, first day of fall, was winter coat cold and and wet!  Of course it was..... so I wrote this as we ate the last of our corn....

Last day of summer
Hot, humid sun, mow the lawn,
Corn....cold tomorrow...

I am very fond of pottery from east Asia and the lovely forms and shapes.  You see me making vases and bottles sometimes, no adornment, just their quiet form occupying space, unlike much of my decorated work.
I thought these 2 were a fun yin and yang:  the large round bottle and the slim green vase just out of the kiln with a dinner plate dahlia.... happy Tuesday!

Elegant, the kind of thing a Japanese home would place in their shrine.

Beautiful! That dahlia is worthy of one of your lovely vases.
