Miss Honey Penny
(Can you believe who showed up when I was getting pics of Penny and the pink cosmos? We have a lot of honey bees around--I think they live-ARGH-through a crevice at the top of my chimney--I love honey bees, but......I wish they had a nice hive off in the woods instead---one stung our roofers, and considering how NUMEROUS they are up there, the roofers were lucky it was friendly honey bees and not wasps or they would all have been STUNG TO DEATH, instead of one little sting.... )
I have very little success with gardening and plants. Except for my various rock gardens. They don't die on me! I usually do OK with marigolds and sunflowers...NOPE, not this year, I managed to kill them! Last year I had a few cosmos plants from the store that did very well for me, and I saved a few seeds for this year from the flowers and WOW! I can grow pink cosmos! See my big wash tubs out in the yard there? The neighbors probably thought I was decorating hillbilly style, dumping old sh!t out in the yard ....or maybe a his and hers pair of bathtubs which double as laundry and dish washing tubs...actually they are carefully placed planters ;) I am gonna save ZILLIONS of those seeds now and watch out next summer.....

There's something about cosmos with their feathery foliage and pretty flowers.
Penny looks much happier among the flowers than the cold snow!
Pretty. I wonder if you could find a bee keeper to move your bees.
Money on a roof is money well spent but it makes me want to give a party outside and have everyone look at it with grand admiration.
Happy to see whatever grows and blooms in my life! Thanks for gluten free bread info.
I can't tell you how much I love cosmos....I am so jealous.
Next year for sure!!!!!
Gary! Those are gorgeous Cosmos!
BEES!!! They are following me even in the blogosphere! AHHHHH!
:-)
That bee in flight photo is so cool! Yay for Cosmos! They are such happy flowers. Mine would often reseed themselves so look around for them in the spring. Of course, your method of saving the seeds gets them where you actually want them to grow. :)
Well done with the Pink Cosmos! Mine were all Orange, I was happy but a few pink would have been a bonus.
LOVE the cosmos--so pretty! And the dog and sweet bee.
I have to laugh because anyone with a spare tub around here seems to automatically create a shrine to Virgin Mary with it. Not my taste, but there you go.
The cosmos are out of this world gorgeous. :)
The bee?? SO darn cute; great captures Gary!!!
