Or hotter than a roofer's head? Our roofers had one of those weeks--one day I was wearing a WOOL SWEATER (in July!) I was so cold, and Thursday there was lightening and heavy rain which caught them, and they finished in blazing hot weather Friday. Man, what A JOB! I really respect them for it. Now they are done. Quite a disruption! You think NOTHING could be louder, when you are inside, than the shingle removal. NOPE! Nailing down the new roof shingles is louder.
I had gotten accustomed to things like this foot hanging over the edge, outside the studio, and overhearing the guys talking outside the window:
"wow, this skylight was just put in without caulk or sealant! Amateurs." (last owner put it in, I think, lucky it had not started to leak!)
And they would sing country songs....friendly, hard working guys.
That skylight, which did not and should not leak.
The foot.
The potter and kiln. I fixed it 3 weeks ago, as you will recall, and it broke again. Burnt out element last time, different burnt out element this time. It is an old kiln in good shape, but just like light bulbs or tires, things get old and wear out. I am keeping plenty of spares around, and did not have to wait for Mr UPS to deliver...and it is fixed and working again NOW. Have a great Saturday!

The dangling foot cracked me up. Oh man, I don't think I could be up there on a roof like that ... too high! Yikes!
I'm glad the potter got his kiln working. Happy Weekend!
This summer has sure been a bit unusual for weather. I'm getting the outside of my house painted, but first the pressure washer happened this week...whining machine constantly.
The first big rain after our leaky skylight was replaced, I stood underneath and watched the rain not come in the house.
That foot cracks me up too. Our poor roofers got rained on every single day. I guess that's part of roofing in Florida but I felt so bad. They got drenched.
