Yesterday afternoon I needed to pick up the wife but had a few minutes on the way, so Penny and I stopped at Cornell Plantations...as we so often do! I found this little squirrel skull just lying there (or is it a bunny?) It has these tiny little teeth on there....found 2 four leaf clovers too....
below you can see Penny at the pond...we saw at least 3 goose families with their babies. Canadian geese are really vigilant parents! The little babies are usually between the 2 parents who are busy looking all over...in case a beagle is coming....

One day last week I was thinking about it and decided to make a mug that is, well, Godzilla. Tail is the handle and such, enormous size for your pint of beer...this is the first version below, on sale now at my etsy gallery!

Great ginger jars. Now do/did people really keep their ginger in a ginger jar? I like mine chocolate covered actually, and that would be lots of lovely candy. But I wonder about the fresh ginger not getting moldy in a jar. Perhaps the candied kind (thinking like me). Thanks for stealing my idea, before you even saw my little jar, which is mainly the lid style, not the whole jar. I really don't mind sharing ideas, as you probably already know, being in a community studio makes that happen all the time.
killer jars man! I never really understood the whole "ginger jar" thing either. What was it used for? Was it really any different than other covered jars? I suppose I could do a little research.

The elephant on the lid looks so happy I can't imagine seeing him in your kitchen and not smiling.
Those jars are very cool and I'll have to be sure Jenny sees the Godzilla mugs as they would be great for her hubby. I have a huge amount of envy for your walks on the Cornell campus. It always looks so beautiful!
IT IS so beautiful at Cornell and I am going over there again now :) I have made many ginger jars in the past, perhaps not recently, and they are a classic form from many hundreds of years of practice. Thank you again Barbara for reminding me of their beauty :)
