Try explaining to your small and adorable BUT voracious little beagle that she cannot have breakfast today because she a pre-op appt. at Cornell Vet School surgery... I DID give her a huge bowl of treats last night, which is long forgotten, but, oh, that little face.... "so, uh, Gary, did I do something wrong, are you not forgetting something here?". And she sits on my feet.
If you read the last couple of days, things here are a bit challenging. Penny the beagle is sick and has pre-op today and surgery Thurs or Fri and anybody who knows me is aware that no human can match my love for her (well, there is my wife...). My father left the hospital yesterday for his 80th birthday. He should not have left. My sister is there helping them, but I would not be surprised if he went right back into the hospital, hours after leaving. BUT, for all that, of course, as were we all, he was happy to be in his home for the 80th birthday party....
I feel like I am spinning out a soap opera for you, sorry about that! I have a feeling news will be good soon :)

Well, I hope you skipped breakfast too as a show of solidarity. Kidding! Be well little Penny. Remember, in 80 years your Dad has experienced a lot...and kudos to him. Still sending you that zap of energy to get through this stuff!
Thinking about you, your lovely missus, your sweet Penny, and your parents who are having a difficult time. Wishing you all peace, fortitude, and positive outcomes.
Sending ALL the good thoughts and wishes your way, Gary!!
Thinking of you today. I know, it's hard.
Hope all goes well for Penny toady.
Its tough with our parents all getting older. Hope your Dad picks up.
Thinking of your and sweet Penny.
Homer extends his sympathies to Penny. He's been having some issues and had to fast a couple times and he does not like it one bit. We will all be thinking of Penny this week.
I've been AWOL from blogging but still look for your updates on facebook. Thinking of you & yours today. ♥
Good thoughts for you and sweet Penny!!!!!!!!!!
it will be fine. Let you Dad enjoy his birthday, what else does he have right now. With Mark's mother she wanted some cake, the care keeper thought she should not have cake. I said- let her eat the darn cake and then give her a shot.
Ohhhh. I can just see the look on her face even as I write this. Gary, you and your lovely wife are going through some truly tough times right now. You are in my heartfelt thoughts, all the way from Europe. I might be feeling the need for some pottery soon. Hang in there! Sorry you have to approve this by hand, I am not really the account/logging-in type.
Hugs, hugs, hugs and a scratch behind the ears. And cake, yes cake for your dad. 80 years is a milestone!

I hope your dad will gain strength and do better. And I wish for a benign outcome for sweet Penny. I have a similar surgery scheduled for my Skitty next week.
Along with so many more, sending you and your family warm, healing thoughts ...hope all is well tomorrow and the weeks to come. T.
You're in my thoughts this week. I hope Penny does well with her surgery and that your Dad recovers nicely. In the interim, know that your internet friends are love you and are pulling for you!
