"it was all yellow..."
(new pottery by Gary Rith)
I don't like Coldplay much, but, well, the line fits today!
I DO love a nice buttery-lemony yellow color. My fair display is yellow, and I have a killer yellow glaze.
These are not meant to go together, but they go together. The teapot is quite small. It made the wife swoon. It is cute sized! About one cup.
The cups and saucers are the next step for me: remember when I told you last week about making saucers that I LIKE? But that I don't use spoons. The wife reminded me about when a clothing designer was interviewed about purses, and while sipping during the talk said "see how my spoon slips into the middle of the saucer each time I lift the cup? This is badly designed" which gets a potter thinking.... PLUS, of course, a larger saucer allows space for a cookie...and I like to add the little ripple there, which, SURPRISE! Helps hold the spoon....and you might be able to see I added a ridge in the middle to keep the cup in place and keep the spoon from wandering....
have an awesome Thursday!

Hi Gary! These are brilliant! Really, and I don't even drink tea. You need to patent this idea before all your potter friends steal it. Are these for sale on your Etsy shop yet? I must buy two for a friend of mine. Albug
Your yellow is absolutely scrumptious! And the saucer solution for spoons is brilliant. Is it totally yours or are you willing to share?
I'm not a huge fan of yellow except in spring when I can't get enough of it. But as I said this yellow with the blue too is wonderful.....a day brightener!
Lovely yellow. And what a great design for saucers! You're the next "fill in blank with your fav inventor"
Albug, not everything goes to etsy but EVERYTHING is for sale: email me garyrith@yahoo.com please, thanks!
That's brilliant and a really pretty yellow too. I saw these on pinterest this morning.
