endings....

SO, I am spending all Tuesday morning messing around on this teapot, and I like the way it went, def. matches the mental idea I had. Now I gotta MAKE MORE MORE MORE like it!

I was over at the final Cornell Ceramics studio sale.....Tommy and Norah in the pics below, fingering their own awesome work...its not like I won't be able to see my buddies anymore, but it was easy to work at Cornell and see them and gossip and exchange ideas...but for the future....? Sale ends Thursday.....

that teapot is elegant!
where will your students go now to take classes?

Sometimes one door closes and another one opens, so maybe you will find a different challenge or outlet that will promote your most excellent pottery.

That teapot is quite nice!
This is just such a bummer. You will get to keep pottering, but the pottery students...they are losing a creative outlet. The world doesn't have enough of those nowadays.

I agree with TechnoBabe, something else will come along for you, of course. I just hope all the students can find their next outlet.

I like those purple(?) cups on the little round table on the left.

Endings are bittersweet - and yes, it's hard to leave someplace where you enjoyed being. Perhaps a new venture will come along with the changing seasons.

I do hope another space opens up for the students. It's really a shame that Cornell's policy makers are so short-sighted.

Best wishes for a new and improved class space! {{{{{Hugs}}}}}

I agree with "still"! Sad when life is only about dollar signs and education becomes about credentialling so one can pursue said dollar signs:(
All the best GR--the work is awesome and I hope you find a great place to work and teach.

a middle finger salute to the student union board! (a group of 20 y.o. frat boys who run these things)
I have my other fingers in other pies, but a lot of other people are outta luck....

That sucks. I hope someone gets sick in their bar every night.

I've been catching up on your blog (so behind on so many things right now) and I love hearing how your ideas come about, and how you see ideas in just about everything. I think that's the true mark of a creative person!
