"I'll take your negative eight and raise ya 2 to negative ten..."
This is a shot of the waterfall in downtown Ithaca, frozen solid! It is Fall Creek which goes behind my house....also frozen solid for the most part....
Nook and I were walking yesterday, felt so dang WARM! It was 20 degrees at noon!
The conversation with my mom on their farm an hour away, in the frozen hills:
me: "we had 8 below zero this morning..."
my mom who has a competitive streak: "oh yeah, that's nothing! It was ten below here!" which it may or MAY NOT have been....she likes to win, even if lying cheating and temperatures are involved ;)
Some things I am working on. That teapot with the twisted handle...I kinda went to town there.
Gonna make another like it this morning, but for a bamboo handle! (see post I did recently on BAMBOO LUST :)
Have a great weekend!

crazy a** winter!
First: love the new style handle...you've got a new world to explore with twisted handles. Second - thanks for pic of the falls. I heard Niagra was frozen too. Can't figure out where the water is going though...somewhere underneath? Or is it all frozen wherever it comes from?
Dang that's cold!
When I was at Penland this past Jan it was in the single digits so much that when it warmed up to 32 degrees we all started taking our coats off and remarking about how warm it was.
Twenty above does feel warm, doesn't it? Love the crimping on the bowl's rim. The more confident rim seems to really highlight the effect.
Oh….laughing at your Mom's remarks!! Stay warm!
I never even imagined a frozen waterfall before. Wow!
Your frozen waterfall is insanely cool.
I just can't get my head around a frozen waterfall! How did folks ever decide to settle there in the first place...very small growing window in the year. So very different to here.
I'd love to see a frozen waterfall... for a short while (just enough to marvel at it and take awesome photographs).
