"Plate? CHECK..."

I got in the mood the other day to make checkerboard glaze patterns.  I was at a friend's house.  They have an enormous pottery caterpillar sculpture with a checkerboard pattern, and I went home THINKING.
I have a number of test tiles in different color combos, all look good, but the most subtle are the most interesting to me at the moment. Like this plate, with emerald green and a little speckly blue in contrast.

I just had my breakfast on that plate :) Have a great Friday!

Subtle is good. Lovely plate. Lovely breakfast!

Very nice, I like that it’s not really contrasty like a game board.

Pretty plate, but my eyes kept wandering over to those cookies... they would taste great with my coffee.

Imagine the precise portion control one could employ with such a design:)
