my mugshot Monday... new favorites!
(new pottery by Gary Rith)
I did fire the kiln Sunday, but the wife has been out of town and other than various PARTIES, as you know, I have been cleaning not working.... I know, I need to make so many pots, and I cleaned? Sure.... the accumulated clutter needs a good spring cleaning to help clear the creative brain.... today? STILL no work early as I tote a CARLOAD of recyclable crap to the dump. When I say carload, I mean all seats but the drivers, and I can barely see out the back or passenger windows.... GOOD BOY, right?
OK, but what came out of the kiln a couple days ago? A lot of mugs. I keep talking about what makes a favorite mug for me, a lifelong quest, and this is a sampling of what is on my mind lately. One thing on my mind this week is INK BLOT!
Those brown ones look like an upside down skep!
ReplyDeleteI like your post title--"Mugshot Mondays."
ReplyDeleteNothing feels quite as cleansing as a good purge. I need to do that around here!
Love the red spotted mugs! Such a great color and shape. Happy Spring Cleaning. Let me know if you'd like to come south and clean out a few closets for me. :)
ReplyDeleteIt's so freeing to know that someone else is not just having fun in the studio but doing stuff that needs to be done around the house. I hope we both get back to clay very, very soon (this afternoon even).
ReplyDeleteYou just reminded me I need to gather up the recycling for the pickup tomorrow! Thanks, Gary!
