everybody loves BUNNIES...
I sure do! My favorite childhood book was PETER RABBIT and I remember well the horror of Peter's father made into a PIE (the English sure are strange) and wondering for years what chamomile tea was. But Beatrix Potter is a hero of mine: always observing, always drawing, illustrating notes and letters to others: I do that! She also bought and preserved thousands of acres of England's prettiest countryside, and donated it as preserved parkland.
ANYWAY, we have bunnies everywhere outside this summer and I love them, and use them all the time in my drawing and work...

I was always fond of Old Mr. Bunny in Benjamin Bunny. "Old Mr. Bunny had no opinion whatever of cats." I've always loved the picture of Miss Potter with her pet rabbit.
ReplyDeleteYour bunnies look ready to hop off the mugs onto the table.
My favorite was The Velveteen Rabbit. It was a sweet and sad story with a good ending. I haven't read it in years but I suspect it hold up well as an adult book too.
ReplyDeletealso a favorite of mine...I still have the Beatrix Potter post cards I bought when we were living in England...and I am a bunny hugger of long standing...

Adorable bunnies...now I must ask, have you ever done anything with a moose?
ReplyDeleteI do love Beatrix Potter. I confess to watching the children's videos by myself!
ReplyDeleteLovely!
ReplyDeleteBunnies and books always make me think of The Velveteen Rabbit. A teacher read it to us in school and I was mortified b/c I couldn't stop crying. Like Lori said, yeah, it's lovely ... but my little heart just breaks.
