Time Warp Tuesday: LIFE AS AN EXTREMELY FAMOUS ATHLETE

Time for Time warp Tuesday, right? A chance to look at your old pics and share them with the world... I am taking liberties with the OLD part here...pics from waaaay back...Saturday! I was, as you keep hearing me say, the last minute tenth man on the Ithaca Firefighter's team in an "extreme" race...you run, you carry people, you do pull ups and push ups, you crawl in the mud....here are some action shots. WELL imagine my surprise when I am out and about Monday with Penny the therapy beagle at the senior center AND complete strangers (I SWEAR I am not making this up)
a) saw me compete and are all smiles at my awesome heroics AND
b) tell me "yeah, I saw you in the newspaper's online gallery for the event!" I am available for autographs...I have sharpies....

(I am the scrawny little person on the right amidst 9 very fit, strong and capable and friendly firefighters--if you have an emergency?  CALL THEM.  If you need fresh baked scones and tea?  CALL ME)

  1. Coffee and scones! Stat! GR to the rescue. Congrats on the 'race'. Studio mud might now seem tame?

  4. Looks like it was a great day! I see that they didn't have a shirt in size small :-)

  5. Gary, I am still so amazed that you did this- and with almost no preparation! I might've run the other way if I got there and someone told me I had to do chin-ups.
