Don't p!ss on Santa!

You know that I babysit my little fuzzy buddy Nook, a sweet, no, VERY sweet little fuzzy white dog?
Monday on our walk?  He peed 23 times.  Penny, my little female beagle, peed once.  I haven't walked a male dog in awhile and you forget how DIFFERENT it is:  a stubborn little female beagle will drag you down the street chasing a squirrel, then abruptly put on the brakes and refuse to budge because now she wants to go back that other way....whereas Nook pretty much stops and sniffs and pees every half block..or more.  Tuesday I counted 25 tinkles, including once onto Santa......

Nook is not all that nuts about ME combing him.  He steps away.  When I set the comb down, he comes over for petting and such....

  1. Yup! He's gotta let every dog in town know he's been there.

    He's a really pretty guy, tho. ;-)

  2. My dear neighbor had a Spitz. He used to sit on her riding mower with her as she mowed the lawn. He was a handsome smart little guy. Thanks for bringing me the memory.

  3. It's funny how some dogs have to mark everything and some don't. Dori (my whippet/beagle mix) doesn't like to waste valuable walk time peeing, maybe it's a beagle thing.

  4. He's really adorable.

Male dogs.. it's like they're leaving their calling card for all of the other dogs to sniff and then cover over.

I've been out with Benny when we've encountered other male dogs. If one of them decides to pee, it can take a long time to continue our walk. Each of them has to cover up the others pee.. and it doesn't stop until one of their bladders are empty. And even then they can usually manage to squirt out a bit more. Gotta love dogs. :)
