if your dog ATE A BAR OF SOAP what might happen?

What do you think might happen?

I noticed Tuesday that the bar of soap on the edge of the bathtub was gone....

As many of you know, yesterday morning the dog, who was perfectly normal in every other way, puked all over the bed.  I had suspected Penny had eaten the bar of soap, and her vomitus confirmed it.
Later that same day I stepped on this odd white bit....a chunk of soap full of teeth marks....final confirmation that Penny was GUILTY AS CHARGED.  Being a beagle, she will probably eat another bar of soap given a chance...

Late yesterday she and I took the awesome sunset walk over on the Cornell campus, good GOLLY it was spectacular, sunshine and trees!

  2. We use soaps that are hand crafted from natural ingredients so when one of the dogs ate one she was fine. I would imagine she may need to be walked or let outside more often but may be fine. Your vet may be able to tell you with a quick phone call rather than a vist. You'll be finding a new place for the soap now I guess.
    I hope she's okay.

  3. The scenery is lovely! Well, the scenery outside the house. I expect your bed was not a lovely scene. Glad Penny's OK.

  6. We had a dog eat a bar of soap - also a beagle, of course. We were not lucky enough to have vomit. We had the, er, other end...overact for several days.

    Yikes!
