I am one of those super nervous shy types, who figures, as Charlie Brown would, that you have a party and NObody comes. Missus G warned me that there MAY be a lot more people coming than I expected to her party at our house Friday, and it was true! With the photographer here, (Christine's daughter) there were 13 of US on July 13th!!!!!!!!!!! How lucky is THAT???
But first, earlier Friday, we took Mrs G to Taughannock Falls---taller than Niagara! Hiked, then ate the hard won burritos at Viva....believe it or NOT, the dude, Nate Shinegawa, running for US Congress, came in and we chatted as he got his burrito...that is a good democrat, right? Dude is out with THE PEOPLE getting the cheapo takeout burrito...I sure hope he ends up in DC
The wife had taken the day off, to party hearty with all us gals.
Party was 3 till 8, supposedly...but was more like 3 till 9 or ten! We had some studio tours and demos, we had a whole helluva lot of eating and drinking....at one point, my cat Spike and dog Penny hijacked the kids with love and tenderness....holy CATS I just love this gang and every single one of them is welcome here anytime....
SPLENDIFEROUS!!!
ReplyDeleteAnd where did you find that tee?
And today we'll be at our studio :-)
ReplyDeleteIt was amazing, Gary. We had a blast meeting everyone and seeing the studio. I thought I was going to have to frisk the kids to make sure they left Spike and Penny at your place. :)
ReplyDeletewhat fun!
ReplyDeleteamazing the amount of wonderfulness that happens when The G is in da house!!
ReplyDeletewhat a great evening!!!!
Gary! What a blast - congrats on giving a grand time.
ReplyDeleteLucky 13 on lucky Friday the 13th. Glad you had such a great time.
ReplyDeleteLooks like a blast! xo
ReplyDeleteLove the thought of this gathering. I wanted so badly to fly into Houston (closest to me) to see Mrs. G there , but we were en route from Aspen. Dang! Looks like she was having fun wherever she went! Your pottery intrigues me. You're very talented, Gary!
ReplyDeletelook like you had a whole lot of fun!
ReplyDeleteWhooohoo!
ReplyDeleteLooks like so much fun. The trek to Taughannock Falls looks wonderful. I was in Ithaca once in my life, many years ago, for a wedding with my girlfriends. Never even saw, or knew, the finger lakes were right there. Dumb youth!
ReplyDeleteGlad you all had a great time, and sorry I missed it! I had planned on making the drive but couldn't miss out on a trip that day to Canada with two of my sisters, one of which only makes it home once a year. Gary, you need to id the gals!
ReplyDeleteGary! We had a wonderful time!!! Thanks so much to you both for opening your home and for being soooo welcoming! Wonderful setting and wonderful people to be with! Emma talked about Penny and Spike all the way back to NJ!
ReplyDeleteAll the best,
Leslie, Mark and Emma
I had to smile when reading your fears about hosting what turns out to be a party for one. It seems this is a universal worry. I am glad you had a people-filled happy day.
ReplyDeleteYet another Mrs. G. gathering that I would have given anything to attend!
ReplyDeleteWell done, Gary. I can see everyone had a wonderful time, especially your pets with all that extra love.
ReplyDeleteOh, hooray!
ReplyDeleteHow cool is this, that you all were together? I wish I could have been there.
ReplyDeleteLooks like SO MUCH FUN! Oh Penny is a charmer isn't she?!
