the tiger is DEAD!

First of all, I won post of the week at The Smitten Image, yaaaaay! Twas Spike and the evil shoelace, as you might expect.... Spike is very much alive, thank goodness, but:

I was at the Binghamton Zoo last night for feast of the Beasts...and when the guy calls to invite me, I was like "put me by the tigers! that is where the action is!!!!" and I imagined an evening of growling tigers at my elbow, customers at my other elbow. I had zillions of customers and maybe the best 2 hours I have had in years (IT WAS SO MUCH FUN seeing all these nice people, bears and penguins and hanging out in the tiger house) EXCEPT: the tiger died just before I got there! His brother had died a little earlier in the year, and yesterday POOF! Dead and gone right in front of the crowd, just before I got there and set up....here are 2 pics of me and my display yesterday and then pics from a year ago, when the boys were healthy and happy and alive.....

RIP Mischa sweetie, aged ten......

  1. That's so sad. I would expect the tigers would live longer than 10 years.

  2. Oh, poor tigers!
But is that a giant pickle in the penguin's pond? (That's a lotta alliteration!)

  3. i know, penguins and pickles, who knew? The cute little guys are used to going into their cave at 4-5, and they had to stay out late last night!

  4. Well that would certainly put a damper on the festivities! Maybe you should make some memorial tiger pots.

  9. PENGUINS AND A PICKLE! YES!
R.I.P., TIger. At least you got to hang with Gary before you died! Everyone should take comfort in that. Sad. :(
