Post of the week?
(pottery by Gary Rith)
Gotta dig these glazes--new glazes from the Cornell studios, and I am gonna sneak around and try to get a copy of those recipes so I can use them in the home studio too. These 2 teapots were demos I had made for my class, then tested the glazes: superb!
The Smitten Image made me a Post of the Week, how about that? Makes me feel like I have to TOP yesterday morning's winning post, except my mind is mush at the moment.
Yesterday Penny and I got bored of our usual walks and took a late afternoon hike at Cornell Plantations. Nice days, but November is a bit grey looking isn't it?
Congrats on the POTW, Gary! I'm not surprised, since you really outdid yourself yesterday.
ReplyDeleteI prefer to think of November as subtle. There is still color there in the background, it just isn't as vibrant and stunning as it was back in October. And there, I think that will be Friday's post for me! (With pictures, of course)
November and March, to me, are the least exciting months visually. November still has some colour so its appearance wins. But March tells of some good months to come.. so it's the true winner. Love that little Penny head. :)
ReplyDeleteCongrats my man! It was a great one! Though provoking.
ReplyDeleteLove the pots Gary, and the glazes are a success. Very nice. I adore the photo too, very beautiful site! :)
ReplyDeleteHey Gary, congrats on the POTW. Cool.
ReplyDeleteThe teapots are awesome.
November is usually grey, which is why I hate it. (Of course today is sunny, as it's been all week, making me a liar.) The pots add additional sunshine. I can't wait until I have a china cabinet again and can have pretty things...
ReplyDeleteYou certainly deserve the POTW, Gary!!! You've done some beautiful work lately!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteI my goodness--my blue kitchen with the splashes of yellow would go so well with your teapots!
