plummy!!!!
(Open studio Saturday 1-5, and I am thinking I won't be able to post, so this is IT until Sunday! 540 Main, Etna, NY, rte 366, the purple house!)
Before we were married me and the wife were visiting her aunt in Cincinatti Labor Day weekend 1992, and she baked the old family plum tart recipe. I loved it loved loved it, and she gave me the recipe. It came from her mother, the wife's grandmother, who provided MY wedding ring. Yes, the lady must had fairly big fingers or mine are especially small...or a little of both. Anyway, this is the recipe, and I make it with blueberries and apples too, yummo! Of course, it is one of those family recipes with only part written down: like it does not take an hour to bake, more like 30 minutes. But even so, other than that, this is an easy recipe and always comes out perfect. If you go with 2 cups of flour rather than one, you get a lot of coffee cake rather than rich tart.
Have a nice holiday weekend!
I am goiong out to check if our plums are ripe.... cause that torte looks like excellent hurricane breakfast food......
