making BAD decisions
You know I am sometimes swept up in the excitement of garage sales. Like, for example, I got this nice 4 part shelf thing yesterday, just needs some paint! But then I got the velevet Elvis too....
Tommy's family has this rule: get rid of 15 things, then you can bring one thing into the house. I need to get rid of a LOT of stuff now I guess....
I had Elvis in my studio but he it is so horrible I took it out to the garage and hung it up over the trash can, dollar sticker still afixed...
What were you thinking? You should have come to the sale at the Kitschen Sink. We had GOOD stuff!
ReplyDeleteDid you make Elvis cry?
ReplyDeletemy grandmother had one on velvet - we could never figure out where she got it and at what point it came into the house but Gary she was old and loosing her mind.....")!!!!
ReplyDeletenice shelf. bad elvis.
ReplyDeleteYou need more gay friends. :) They wouldn't have let this happen!
ReplyDeleteThere's always Christmas and that family member that gets you the oddest things. Go ahead and wrap him now!
Are you going to have a yard sale and if so be sure to put the Elvis painting out there. Ha.
ReplyDeleteI opened a jetsy account just because of all the wonderful things you make. I keep looking and I will find just the right thing for us.
I love the velvet Elvis just due to its unbelievable tackiness! Good find. The shelves are very nice!
ReplyDeleteMaybe Velvis will protect your house from bloody fugitives and hobos! Sort of like a patron saint...
ReplyDeleteThere was a server in the Arts and Sciences years ago that had a Elvis on Velvet hanging above it. They made a shrine to the King. :-)
ReplyDeleteIn my mind Elvis on Velvet are right up there with Pink Flamingos. It's so outrageous that it makes it funny, which makes it great to have around.
My favorite T-shirt was a Dog's playing poker. I wore the shirt until it was so thin, I couldn't wear it anymore. Some people gave me strange looks, other people would laugh.
oh no... a hunka, hunka sh$t!
ReplyDeletepoor elvis... he's so sad he's weeping. well maybe he's not sad and it's just the drug addictions. i do like velvet painting tho
