"glad I am not your neighbor"

I heard once that beagles are named for bugles. My Penny can be pretty LOUD from time to time, but she is adorable.
Kasey last week is like "you should make a video of Penny howling" and usually when people see my videos of Penny they always say "glad I am not your neighbor" although my real neighbors love her and we are VERY polite and try to keep her quiet. Here are a few seconds of howling:)

  3. I think it's cute how they get bat ears when they bark. :)

  4. I grew up across a back yard from a family with a beagle named Twinkle. Twinkle was a BIG howler. We used to joke that he was trying to make the moon disappear, because he would stare at the sky at night and howl away like a loon!

  6. Gary, I have a beagle, too - named Dot Scootmanoodle. Don't ask about the Scootmanoodle part, I was only responsible for the Dot.

She bays just like your Penny, and I love that sound! She starts it up the moment my car pulls in the drive in the evening and doesn't stop 'til I've paid full attention to her. Beagles are loud, but the best dog breed in the world (despite what my husband says about his American Bulldog).

  13. And Hamlin the cat, historically wary of dogs, having lived with a few, did not even feign interest in Penny howls. Birds, on the other hand, always get attention.

  14. Hmm...BuddyTheElf is plunked beside me here on the couch and did not even stir whilst I watched and listened to Penny. I oughta video the Budster when the UPS man or FedEx truck pull up to the house or even across the road at the neighbors, it would crack the eardrums. I am immune I guess to the racket.
